it is Polish. why on earth would it be french? Chopin was Polish after all. His father was French, that's where the name comes from, but Fryderyk was born and raised in Poland until he emigrated in 1830 cos of the November Uprising. He was 20 at the time.

I finally get Chopins music now that I'm like 17... I epic failed at understanding it when i was like 14. I'm also sure i'm going to have another different take on it when I'm older though.

Yundi Li plays Chopin's pieces really beautifully. It's magical, but I am sure this comes with lots of practice.
Practice makes perfect.. but talent and passion are very important factors as well. :)
