sudan got oil if the sudan wasnt corrupted they could sell the oil and get the west to build deep water wells and basicly do what israel have done with its land of irregation and bringing the baron lands back to life, and then grow wheat and crops, there is no reason now for sudan to have poverty on a great scale as it is now-- sudan needs to sort its corruption out, corruption is the only thing standing in sudans way now.

Actually, that's not the reality. The reality is that China hopes to spread its fascist regime around the world, by instituting totalitarian states that promote genocide and restriction of human rights. Africa is a convenient place for them to be involved and wear the humanitarian hat by claiming the are building infrastructure and donating food to detract from their supporting goverments that commit massive genocide.

This is nauseating hypocrisy. Its is British and US mercenaries who are arming the rebels, and rousing them against local tribes. They did the same in southern Sudan in the early 90s. This is being done because of Darfur's gas and Uranium reserves. The people of Sudan's western Darfur region are paying the price of greed, like those of Iraq. 1/ China don't like to make empty threats and bluffs. They need the oil of Soudan and they pay at high price. China is not capable of sanctioning Soudan without hurting itself.

Mainly because Sudan has discovered a great deal of oil and has already sold it all for the rest of time to the People's Republic of China. Both these points making it rather unpopular on the international stage. So in Sudan there is a sense of anti-colonialism, a sense of being besieged by the new colonialism
