In a home demo Lennon recorded, he plays a song called "Help Me To Help Myself" and theres a line in it that goes "They say the lord helps those who helps themselves, so I'm asking this question in the hope that you'll be kind". And if he hadnt got SHOT (as he supposedly "deserved"), that song wouldve been put on an ALBUM! But yeah I guess he was hypocritical to write the song "God" huh
