sufjan CAN write from a different perspective. it's not unheard of. girl's used to wear legwarmers, say, when he was boy. and maybe he found her diary while he at the same camp as her. he says that him and his friend made up the predatory wasp one day when he was at camp. he could of linked them

Secretly close-minded? Hardly... I don't think there is anything wrong with being gay or Christian or both (By the way, did you know Clay Aiken started out as a Christian artist?). If Sufjan didn't intend for his song to sound gay, then he is extremely naive for an indie rocker that lives in New York. I don't know whether he's gay or not, but this song is pretty gay. : )

And he's not indie... nor did he grow up in New York..
He is stereotyped and currently lives where the music industry calls him.. that's it. And Clay Aiken is nothing like Sufjan.. One more thing.. biblically, gay is wrong..

Also, might I add that I think Sufjan would object to you labeling him a "Christian artist." He seems to be very private about his faith. There are Christian undertones sure, but I think Sufjan is striving to be a secular artist. : )
