Comeon. Tell us ... ( 1 year ago by donmei)
Comeon. Tell us what we all want to know!!! How does it compare to the Bose???
Thanks, Don
I found the ... ( 1 year ago by airportpilotshop)
I found the Lightspeed comparable to Bose on ANR. The weight of the Zulu is about 1.5 ounces heavier than Bose. Even with the extra weight the Zulu was still very comfortable. I put a lot of emphasis on comfort though. I would rather have a Louder, comfortable headset than a Quieter, UNcomfortable headset.
I have the Zulu in stock for the moment (limited supply), use the promotional code ZULU when checking out to get free shipping on the Zulu headset.
Thanks
Dave

Thanks Dave for the review, I am very interested in the Zulu. What do you mean by "I put a lot of emphasis on comfort though. I would rather have a Louder, comfortable headset than a Quieter, UNcomfortable headset"? Are you saying that the Bose is more or less comfortable than the Zulu?
The comfort of the ... ( 1 year ago by airportpilotshop)
The comfort of the headset depends on the individual. Trying on headsets is like trying on shoes. One that is comfortable for me may not be comfortable for you. Nobody can give a review and tell you that you will find the headset comfortable, it is too subjective. I find both the Bose and the Zulu very comfortable. Which one is more comfortable for you? Well, I can't answer that. Only you can.
Order the headset. If you are not happy with it, I have a 30 day return policy. Dave

Just got my headset ... ( 11 months ago by hemidriver656)
Just got my headset in today! It is great, and I'll tell that in my oppinion it is much more comfortable than the Bose. The ANR is great, probably just as good as the bose if not better. The audio quality is top notch due to the FRC and bass/trebel boost features. I would have to say it is the best high end headset you can get!
Compared to the bose Price: Cheaper Features: More than the bose: (bluetooth, front row center, cell phone/mp3 player input) Audio Quality: Better

In addition to being in a flight club and access to more traditional aircraft, I fly a very LOUD LSA with a Rotax 503. I tried just about everything to get a good noise canceling mic. (it's easy to get comfort on the earphones) This headset by far beats the DC and Bose X headsets I tried. In fact I can make bluetooth cellphone calls from my noisy cockpit and people can barely tell I'm in an airplane. Three Cheers For LightSpeed! Cory.

I was disappointed that you didn't compare the overall noise reduction to other headsets. Who cares how much reduction comes from the ANR, what really matters is how much noise makes it to your ear. How much noise makes it to your ear compared to the Bose?
Just to clarify, ... ( 3 months ago by airportpilotshop)
Just to clarify, when I talk about the ANR of a headset I am really refering to the total passive and active reduction of the headset. I spend very little time examining a headset with the ANR turned off. What is important is the total reduction. Both the Zulu and the Bose are the quietest headsets available on the market. That includes comparisons with all passive and active headsets.
