In SMA, Mercury is the dumbest scout until you hit next episode. Yet her IQ originally placed in the dub and mangas are 300 points... and SMA doesn't seem to discourage this fact. So how IQ points Serena would rack up then? That's a scary thought all on it's own- even if you weren't using this example!
