Scene Backdrop: At this point in the film, Dirk, Reed and Todd are total strung out coke addicts looking to get the next 'score'. Todd(Thomas Jane) devises a plan to trick a local drug lord(Alfred Molina) into buying bogus coke to get money they desperately need to feed their addiction. Dirk and R

This movie so damn cool, the way they transtioned from 70's to the 80's, the music reminded me of when I was a kid and growing up in Socal, those times were different, I would say better than today. The acting in this movie is great, Classic movie even if it's revolved around adult films.

I love how the eightys music stops, the moment they ran out the door, and then this suspense-soundtrack takes over, brilliant! #1 scene in movie history, no doubt about it, if there were to be a #2, it would be found in "Boogie Nights" as well.

I've been in that situation myself, where I don't do any drugs and we're inside a big shit dealer. He actually wouldn't let us leave until the next day, we were forced to party with him until the following night. Pretty intense moment for me as well. I was actually more like the guy in the middle, all nervous and shit.

this scene is really good. this movie is really good. i know there are many factors that make this scene incredible but that part at 1:20 where he starts to laugh uncontrollably and nobody else is laughing really adds to the mood. also that part where the camera stays on wahlberg at 5:26.

In the DVD director's commentary, PT Anderson says that this scenario was extended. After Molina's character walks back into the house, he finds out that Cosmo is dead and goes ballistic. He then has a shootout with the cops, where he dies.

Very different from the script version that I read. Trouble is: I really didn't like the way the scene was supposed to go in the draft I read. It felt really rushed. The extended scene sounds very similar to how the scene was originally supposed to go.
