On your left you'll see KVII-TV, where I worked for two years & coming up on your right you'll see the Civic Center where I was abandoned after highschool graduation! Amarillo sucks plain & simple. WRONG, the Big Texan is what travelers expect and want...I was stationed at Amarillo ABF in 1966, when The Big Texan was only 54oz, and
I-40 was just starting to come thru.
The natives did NOT like the Airman, but loved our money... but I'll overlook that, because Texas gave us a Great President with Khahonnies
God Bless Texas, and don't miss the Big Texan. This old Yank loves it.

I grew up in the Amarillo area. I have eaten at the Big Texan a few times, after I left. It is good for Amarillo to have it. It provides a good source of revenue.
I am saddened by the 23 year old that lives 400 miles away. I miss the area, and I would move back in a moment, if my ex didn't live there and I could make the same level of income there as I do here. GOD BLESS TEXAS!!!

Amarillo is languishing like a dead animal it's dry, it's dirty, it's buildings are so out dated, nobody cares about amarillo anymore it's just some floating resturant in the middle of nowhere.

The reason Amarillo got the shaft was because somehow the military got pissed off at amarillo and the base closed down and it went down hill ever since then.
This town was so deseperate it painted it's highways a crappy brownish red color just to make it look like we were doing something. Everybody here is so damn lazy nothing ever gets done. It's nothing more than a place to die.
