Boyd's great but he really did butcher this solo. That's why they had him go back into the studio to re-record this before they released the LiC album...which is one of my favorites.

i think that boyd had an incredebly solo performance, mut the last part, when they all get relaxed, I think he takes a bit too long in finishing and getting inside the "spirit of the sound", letys say...but a great momment anyway, hes great!

Tim Reynolds' guitar solo in that version of Lie In Our Graves has to be one of my favorite guitar solos of all time! I love the sound he gets when he switches from pic to thumb in the middle. And that last part is so cool! Carter is an amazing drummer -- must be a lot of fun to jam with that band...

Coltrane always played along with the background, he runs when the song ask for, and dont forget bop and swing styles needs some rushing melodies. But here I feel Tims solo is out of context when he starts quick frases. Anyway I really like Tim, is just this solo

really, I think it's just this mix. I have the same mix on Cd and the guitar is much quieter, making that part just flow as a background piece with the other background pieces for a moment. It's beautiful
