Speed Drafting Flythrough

Video Description:
Rendered Flythrough of the New River Gorge Bridge in West Virginia. Modeled in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008 and using Motion Path Animation. This is the culmination of the 3D design for our senior project at Cal Poly Pomona (the development of which is shown in the videos "Speed Drafting 1, 2, & 3". We also built a physical model of the bridge and a section of the gorge that is on display in Engineering Building here at Cal Poly Pomona. Enjoy!

dude that bridge is so awsome i just went white water rafting under ityesterday it was a lot of fun you people should try it and that bridge if you jump off it to commit sucide it will take you eight seconds to hit the water when i was white water rafting there we got to jump off like a forty foot high rock fom up top of that bridge the view down is almost scary its so high but itsone of the coolest things i have ever saw i heard that people parachute off of it in october i think that wouldbefun

Yeah they do base jump off of it. I've seen them do it before. It's pretty amazing.
I use a lot of AutoCad at school. I'm using AutoDesk Revit Architecture 2009 to design a solar updraft tower power plant. I need to import a contour map into another piece of software..But I would love to be able to represent that in Revit. How did you import the elevation data to make your model

This was only a small part of our senior project. In my group were 23 students and we covered several iterations of structural calculations, geological and environmental information, location of an ideal topographical site in California, a 3-dimensional analytical model, finite element analysis of the structure, seismic and wind study, and we also build a scale model of the bridge and gorge which is still on display in the front of Cal Poly Pomona's Engineering building.
