2) Because we, ... ( 2 weeks ago by deltasigsquirt)
2) Because we, friends, are not people. Not humans. We are awareness. Living in a human-form. But we are still the ONE-LIFE behind all trillion cells of our body. One eternal, aware-imagination in space. We each now, are controlling a sliver, or the total ONE-GOD-SELF. Life for people on Earth is a dream. It's our dream.
1) People get ... ( 2 weeks ago by deltasigsquirt)
1) People get caught up on this "We are not real." What is real? If real means existing in the physical world, meaning where your sense-organs are-aware, then "WE" of course, are not real. "We" have never been to Earth. "We" don't go anywhere. We are free of the concept of location or time.
These are all ... ( 1 week ago by marsCubed)
These are all questions in philosophy. If everything we see, know, can measure or touch, even our sense of self, are all a model inside our brain, then the real is something outside which can only be imagined and is by it's very essence not in our phenomenology. The real is in the moment of awareness;now. but this itself is something we construct and inform into being through our senses and knowledge. I think therefore I am is qualified by; Socrates taught me how to ask questions.

its funny how, even if this is just a computer simulation, there is still a creator.

this is a poor illusion of reaility. computers processing advancement increasing, is a function is dependent on many levels, including human resources.
Here in the US, we are graduating less science educators that any other industrilized country!
The antimatter concept, though, is more sound!

The Tibetans have ... ( 3 days ago by SJamesGray)
The Tibetans have been telling us this for a LONG time.
The true versions of us exist in fact outside of space/time.
Gaiman talks about the possibilities of millions of worlds existing simultaneously in Sandman (World's End-I think?)
The concept was also well parodied in the game Star Ocean which posits this simulation is an MMO video game.
True, and what's ... ( 3 days ago by SJamesGray)
True, and what's more fascinating is that the creator is a computer or machine. Sounds like the Matrix huh?
Yes, a little too ... ( 3 days ago by KiwiChristian)
Yes, a little too much like the Matrix. Question for you - Do you think that even a computer that created "a reality" would have some connection with the "lives" it had created and want to know them and have an interest in the thoughts, feelings and doings, similar to say, a dad and his son?

Hmmmm....good ... ( 2 days ago by SJamesGray)
Hmmmm....good question!
Definately, my question is whether or not this creator's role is merely of a passive observer or something more active, like does it introduce different programs for us to interact with or not?
It's my belief that we are in control of determining that. To use the Matrix reference again, we become more involved in this reality and its super-real connections if we unplug from the sleeping-is-dreaming perspective to the life-is-dreaming one.

Good Question - Is ... ( 2 days ago by KiwiChristian)
Good Question - Is it a Passive or Active Computer Creator? There are a number of programs (spyware) that 24/7 observes what we view and records what we have interests in. Other programs stop us from doing certain functions (security software) and protects us from harm. Google desktop is connected at all times to all programs. Would there be some master plan or overall purpose to any creation, computer or real? Why create something just for the sake of creation, there must be some end goal?
If we're an ... ( 2 days ago by TubularMonkey)
If we're an illusion, then we are as cognizant as the minds that worked out the fundamental principles of reality (which allowed them to create the illusion)- therefore our perception is no different from theirs, meaning this whole thing is really a pointless philosophical argument. I mean who's to say we're not the creation of a creation of a creation? Philosophical spiral staircase. Pointless.
That's the right ... ( 1 day ago by SJamesGray)

Haha, right! And if ... ( 1 day ago by SJamesGray)
Haha, right! And if you don't acknowledge the need for security software, your computer will be fragged in no time- same as any country w/o a military.
Why create anything? 1 of 2 reasons which are purposive (master plan) to provide means for a specific end...
or pure curiosity.
Which makes us all need to question, what if this creation is a mere experiment in humanity with two eyes instead of one, or an experiment with humans of multiple skin tones? How should we deal with the world then?
How should we deal ... ( 1 day ago by KiwiChristian)
How should we deal if this is an experiment? There is something called Moral relativism where we each choose right/wrong but there seems to be some Universal relativisms in all of us, given to us by the creator (otherwise how could be universal) like life is valuable. If this is a test, then the answer must lay in what is universal or inherentto go good. Passing the test requires us to look for the right answers. The Creator may also send us messages to aid us, doesnt he want us all to pass?

I'm sure, morality ... ( 19 hours ago by SJamesGray)
I'm sure, morality is conducive to growth and production of good rather than evil and is the goal of all religion, why though...I'm sure it has something to do with karmic interdependence. The Tibetans who are the masters of the non-existence philosophy describe 6 Bardos or transitional states in which the tests can be taken. Hahaha, who knows, maybe life could merely be study time.
P1 of 2 - This ... ( 7 hours ago by KiwiChristian)
P1 of 2 - This existence is real, be it a computer simulation, Buddhist karma test, or any other dream type state or just plain old reality. The fact is I can touch, feel, cry, laugh, and interact with my surroundings. We are not disembodied sprites floating in space, we are here in this place/space and time, for what reason we can debate, but our reality is these things.
P2 of 2 - Now, in ... ( 7 hours ago by KiwiChristian)
P2 of 2 - Now, in every scenario these is a creator, life always 100% come from life, it cant come from non-life and it is the search for this Father and this longing to Go Home that has driven us into deep space, into quantum physics into the very big and the very small. If this is a test, dont we want to find who is testing us? And is the correct answer to the test to Love the creator and Love His creations?
Sorry, should have ... ( 4 hours ago by KiwiChristian)
Sorry, should have been clearer im not trying to prove reality, because its almost impossible to prove anything. Rather just using our senses to provide some type of relativity frame work to operate in. Is it right to force someone to believe something? (Science religion or philosophy) Is there any indication from the creator that we should use violence? This discussion is great but throughout it there is this theme of a creator no matter how we look that the universe there is always a creator.
