Amy IS a devout Christian. I've been to her concerts. I believe it's better to worry about your own heart than hers. That forest in your eye is causing problems with seeing her splinter. As for this post, thank you SO much for adding it. I saw her do this song when she was pregnant with her 2
nd child; it was inspiring and beautiful. This is my favorite song of hers.

Jesus tells us to test the spirits and be as wise a serpents and harmless as doves. I did research and came up with some disturbing facts. If you type in (is amy grant a christian) in your search engine you will come to a web site that says christian rock blessing or blasphemy. Take time to read all the quotes Amy said in many different magazines listed in the site. She doesn't sound to christian like to me. I would hate to have her splinter of problems.

Sounds to me like you're more concerned about Amy's heart than yours. I don't have a problem with your questioning where someone stands when they speak for Christians, & I did have a problem with her for a while after she divorced Gary. I didn't like her answers then, but she did have valid reasons.

Why am I concerned about Amy's heart? I hope shes right with God and that I'm wrong. I don't have a personal agenda against her. Its not my fault I found disturbing quotes that she made and seen her in a dress that resembles witchcraft with gloves of a golden star, also throwing up a sign of the El Diablo hand gesture. You can look that stuff up in the web site I listed previously. If you don't then you are the one who is ignorant. Like I said Im not saying she is or isn't a christian.

Can you prove to me that this song is about the holocaust of the Jews? You might be right Im just want to know if this is a fact or an opinion. If you read your bible with an opened mind you will know that there will be another christian holocaust that will be much worse than what the Jews went through. No, I can't prove everything in Amy's mind when she wrote this song. Read the lyrics with new eyes. I see it's about Jews as do others. Please stop trying to find Satan in your Corn Flakes. It makes it hard for non-Christians to take us seriously

As for my reading the Bible, I believe in the inerrant word of God. I also love CCM as it helped to guide me to Christ. First CCM artist I heard was, you guessed it, Amy Grant. She's imperfect & knows it, but God can use ANYONE. Truly, when I talk to non-Christians, they read your words as if it's a joke. Reach out, understand, and get off the Christian soap box. Jesus is about love & truth; you tell them that, and they can get the rest with a pastor's help & Bible study.

That hand signal is used in rock & roll concerts because most rock and roll has to do with glorifying satan. I guess we should just be ignorant and use a weeggie boards, tora cards, web dream catchers because its just fun and harmless. Right? You get advice from non christians to prove you are right? Ouija boards, tarot cards, and dream catchers are not to be played with, but neither is the judgment some sects of Christianity place on others. I think your attempts do more harm than good to evangelicals. I'm tired of making excuses for the ultra-fundamentalist sect. "Advice", no. But I've dealt with plenty of people who've become Christians late in life & explained how horridly they were treated.
We agree on Jesus' love; let's leave it at that and agree to disagree on the rest.

I go to an evangelical church so my intentions are not to purposely discourage the body of christ. That is why I never once said she wasn't a christian. That is not my judgment to make. I been to many different churches and was hurt many times. I guess thats why I'm so careful to trust just any one who says they are christians, because some are not.

CWC, this song is not only about the Holocaust (second portion), but is also referencing the enslavement of the Jews by Pharoah in Egypt in the first portion.
As for Amy's past, we all make mistakes and will one day stand before the same God. I'm sure she received enough admonishing back when it happened in the late 80's-early 90's.
