I think this is from 1978 not 1979, the LP also indicates 1978.

This song has been a favorite since I was a kid, and it was on one of those Ronco compilations called "Pure Disco." I wore that LP down to nothing until the advent of the Internet when I was able to once again find all my favorite Disco Songs. Disco Lives Forever!

Nope Makewood, it was 1979 and I use to hear it when I was a Marine at Camp Pendleton that year.

hmm..if I understand correctly, you believe since you heard this song on the radio in 1979it could not have come out in 1978? You can believe what you want, but the 12 inch did come out in 1978. The song actually hits number 1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart on February 17, 1979, but that would account for time for it to climb through all the other great hits around at that time.

Ok dude,no problem friend. Maybe it did. I was in Boot camp in the Marines in 78 so maybe it did come out then. We didn't get to hear any music in there. I just thought it came out in 79.

you are correct. the 12in did indeed come out in the summer or fall of 1978.
True, lucite53. ... ( 3 months ago by torwald41)
True, lucite53. Most of the best music just passes unnoticed by the radio now, as underground music follows a kind of mini-mainstream logic of its own. Which I think is fine, although it will be problematic when big labels try to put together nostalgia complilations for the online 00s. Will there be online classics? I really wonder...

One of my all time favorite songs. That edit is rough though, but of course Bandstand never let anyone sing a whole song.

Well, they hit #41 on the Billboard Hot 100 with this song & hit #1 on the Hot Dance Music chart, so they're not that obscure. However, the mainstream media never talks about them, so I guess that makes them pretty obscure.

This song was released on a small obscure label in 1978. It was picked up by Columbia records and did not become a blowout hit till 1979. However it did get airplay in 1978
