I have no clue who your talking to, but your wrong. PaRappa was considered one of the first "modern rythem games" and other game review shows even state that there would be no Rythem games if it wasn't for PaRappa debuting in 1996. Also PaRappa's spin-off game, "Um Jammer Lammy" was a "Rock Rythem game". And it had a "Guitar controller" you can buy to play it. In fact you can plug in a Guitar Hero guitar from PS2 to play Um Jammer Lammy. It works perfect and is wammy bar supported works as well.
