Living in Glendale Ca. in 1979. I was Six. It would be getting dark and I'd come inside the house and all of the lights would be off and this song would be blaring throughout the house as it started to rain outside...

I remember this song from back around 1975. Hearing it everyday, at least once a day in my ceramics class in high school. I had a cool teacher who let us crank up the piped in stereo music, full bass and all. I think her name was Mrs. Kasparek. Anyway, excellent excellent mellow song. Phoebe Snow had an awesome voice that just relaxed you. Mmmmmm.....good times.

I must be the youngest person commenting on this- I'm only 15 -but this song is so much better than anything they're playing on the radio now. I was born in the wrong decade, that's for sure.

What a MONSTER talent! A buddy & I saw her in the 80s at Bumbershoot. During one song this sax-guitar dual blew us away so we barged close to the stage to watch. No sax, it was PHOEBE totally working her voice!
She writes beautiful music, plays a mean guitar and and sings life few others from any genre.
And yet we're stuck with the Material Whore, Janet Jackson & Britney. Fucking MTV is the antichrist of beautiful and holy spirit of music!
Thanks for posting, I've been craving a fix!

Oh! Plus she was a great showman! Just really funny & pleasant. I'd expected this pensive, intense woman. No way! She had the crowd going the whole time. Her show was actually very up-tempo, positive and just really fun.
Much respect and love to this woman and true artist & thanks to the poster for sharing this slice of aural magic!

There are more young people your age than you think who feel the same way. My 16 year old son is HUGE into classic rock from the 70's. At his high school I see Zeppelin, AC/DC, Van Halen, Hendrix, The Who t-shirts on the kids. Your generation gives me hope that the legacy of rock will continue long after my generation cranks up "Whole Lotta Love" for the last time. You've made us proud, now carry on.
Cheers from Los Angeles.

Way kewl. We are the exact, same age. This tune came out in January / February of 1975. You must have been an eighth grader when you took your sojourn? Or did you make the trip in mid - late 1975? What a privilege to meet her. What is she like? This tune is very therapeutic
