Destroyer? Le Corbusier was a master of light and form. If you cant see the beauty of Ronchamps or La Tourette, I'm sorry. He broke new ground in architecture and was a major influence on many other architects including Charles Gwathmey.

Le Corbusier is NOT ... ( 10 months ago by henryplacido)
Le Corbusier is NOT A DESTROYER BUT A GENIUS! a madman that breaks the "stereotype" of making ideas and spaces! an artist that defy the rules and live with it! without his ideas, along with other "modernist", we will still have the type of architecture that is created a thousand years ago.

When I look at Le Corbusier's work, all is well in my world. I have gazed at photos of Ronchamp since I was a kid, and intend to see it before I die. I have visited his Museum of Western Art in Tokyo - it's lobby is staggering. In my opinion, he is the true and unequalled ARTIST among architects. I one asked my former boss, renowned designer Florence Knoll about Corbu, and she exclaimed, "HE WAS A GENIUS!" Bold, unique, innovative, visionary, painterly, sculptural, and daring work! Bravo!!

You guys are blind; thus, you shouldn't even critique The Crows' work since architecture is inherently visually dominant. Just take a moment and look at his work...Ugh... And as for breaking stereotypes, that has happened since the dawn of architecture... The first modern man to REALLY break away from the conventions of the day was Palladio. I do respect Le Corbusier and admire his fearlessness. However, he WAS the father of a discourse in architectural history which echoes work of Albert Speer.

oh but at the same time this style of architecture isnt for everywere. i like it more in the more natural enviroments than the cityscapes, i think its due to the contrast between the organic natural enviro and the lifeless concrete etc love it!

Corbusier and Wright are the genius to me! They have so many facets in their life that I cannot ever be able to talk about them, because I could be only referring to perhaps 0.1% of their thinking and contribution! Therefore,I could only admire them from my heart!---dancewu(dot)net
