The UrbanShowdown
Monthly Showdown begins on January 1st of each
year and rotates approved artists through a voting
process that allows exposure for quality urban
unsigned artists.
An artist submits both tracks and proper information
to the UrbanShowdown review staff where the submission
is then reviewed in a the order in which it is
received.
If indeed the submission is approved for a future
position in the Monthly Showdown our staff will
then contact the artist within 72 hours or review.
In this e-mail contact we will specify information
on when exactly the artist's submission will appear
on the Monthly Showdown. An artists will then
be able to grab "VOTE FOR ME" banner
and text links found here to promote on their
MySpace or website.. Winners of the UrbanShowdown
Showdown(s) will receive the prizes described
above in the Prize Information Section.
The Contest Structure
The artist with the most votes each month will
be the Monthly Showdown Winner and go on to the
Grand Prize Showdown in November for a chance
at the $500.00 prize package. The Grand prize
winner will be annouced on January 1st of each
year.
Monthly Showdown Runners Up
The top 3 runner ups will continue on to the
next months Monthly Showdown as the remaining
submissions will be removed from the Monthly Showdown
making room for new artists to debut.
Grand Prize Showdown
In November 1st of each year the winners of the
current years Monthly Showdown will be added to
the Grand Prize Showdown - Weekly Showdown through
December 31 of each year. This is a cycle of 8
weeks where our visitors vote to filter out the
final Showdown Grand Prize Winner.
